A: The device and core features are the same. Both editions include time quotes, weather quotes, inspiration quotes, favorite authors, saved quotes, voice playback, night mode, and alarm features.
The difference is the opening experience.
The Standard Edition comes with the default NovellaMate opening screen and is ready for everyday use.
The Personalized Edition lets you add a custom opening message, such as a name, greeting, birthday message, anniversary note, or a short gift message. It is designed especially for gifting, so the recipient sees a personal message when NovellaMate starts up.
Because the Personalized Edition is custom-made, it may require additional processing time and cannot be canceled or refunded once customization has been completed and the product has shipped.

A: Essential and Classic share the same design, screen size, and core features. Both include time quotes, weather quotes, inspiration quotes, favorite authors, saved quotes, voice playback, night mode, and alarm features.
The only difference is the size of the literary library.
Essential includes a carefully selected quote library for everyday use.
Classic includes a larger and deeper quote library, with more books, more authors, and more variety over time. It is designed for readers who want the fullest NovellaMate experience.
This difference applies to both Standard Edition and Personalized Edition. For example, Essential and Essential-P have the same quote library size, while Classic and Classic-P have the larger Classic library. The “P” simply means the model includes a personalized opening message.

A: To add a personalized gift message, please choose the Personalized Edition when purchasing.
On the product page, you will see a message field where you can enter your custom gift message. After we receive your order, we will customize the opening screen before shipping, so the recipient will see your message when NovellaMate starts up.
For example, you can add a name, a birthday wish, an anniversary note, or a short personal greeting.

A: Yes, the quote library is something we continuously expand over time. We regularly add new quotes, authors, and books to the library to help keep the experience fresh and reduce repetition over long-term use.
In addition, the software itself is also actively updated and improved on a regular basis. We are continuously refining the overall experience based on user feedback and long-term usage.
One of the goals behind NovellaMate is to create a device that feels more like an evolving literary companion rather than a static product, so ongoing content and software improvements are an important part of that vision.

A: Yes! NovellaMate is designed for book lovers to read it no matter it is on daytime or at night. The screen is back-lit and it can be read easily at night.

A: Yes. NovellaMate will read quotes aloud in warm voices.

A: As of now, NovellaMate has over 180,000 time-related quotes, 150,000 weather-themed quotes and 90,000 inspirational lines and the number is continuously increasing everyday . We offer three types of quotes daily and you can swipe the screen to swith the 3 different types:
Time Quotes (updated every minute)
Weather Quotes (updated 3 times a day, with 10 quotes per update)
Inspiration Quotes (10 daily quotes curated based on your preferences)
Setup & Operation

A: No. NovellaMate is designed to be app-free. All interactions are handled through its touch interface — no smartphone required.

A: Upon setup, you can set your favorite authors, directors, themes, and styles. The intelligent algorithm will learn your preferences and refine your quote recommendations over time.

A: Yes. NovellaMate connects via Wi-Fi and automatically syncs your local time and weather to generate the appropriate quote content.

A: Not yet. We currently supports English only. But we are going to support French, German, and Spanish in the near future.
Hardware & Availability

A: NovellaMate does not have a battery. It is powered by an external DC adapter (included in the box), and designed to stay on your nightstand.

A: It measures about 18 × 12 × 6 cm and features a walnut and leather like appearance, 7” anti-glare touch display, and minimalist, vintage-inspired design.

A: Standard Edition: The price for Classic Model is $299, and Essential Model is $199.
Personalized Edition: The price for Classic-P Model is $329, and Essential -P Model is $219.

A: No! Our sales price has included everything. You do not have to pay any other fees like shipping fees or custom duties.

A: No. you’ll receive lifetime access to quote updates at no extra charge.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a full refund and return. We’ll cover the return shipping cost .
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn, unused, with tags, factory-sealed and in its original packaging. Any device that has been activated, registered, or set up will be considered used and is not eligible for return. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.For Personalized Edition orders, each device is customized according to the gift message or personalization details provided by the customer. Once the customization has been completed and the order has been shipped, the item becomes non-refundable and is not eligible for return, unless the product arrives damaged, defective, or there is an error in the customization caused by us.
Before production or shipment, if you need to change or cancel your Personalized Edition order, please contact us as soon as possible at contact@novellalabs.com. We will do our best to assist you before the customization process is completed.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products (such as special orders or personalized items). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
We cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
